The NexTier Bank mobile app for iOS and Android delivers account-in-pocket banking with Face ID, Touch ID and Android biometric sign-in, mobile cheque deposit via the device camera, one-tap card lock/unlock, Zelle person-to-person payments, spending categorisation, push alerts and full WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility support.

Biometric & Passcode Sign-in

Face ID and Touch ID on iOS, fingerprint and face unlock on Android. After first enrollment with User ID and password, biometrics unlock the app in sub-second time. A device-bound secure enclave token means the bank never holds the biometric itself. Six-digit app passcode available as a fallback.

Mobile Cheque Deposit

Point the device camera at the front and back of an endorsed cheque. The app auto-crops, runs MICR parsing, and submits the deposit. Default limit $5,000/day and $20,000 rolling 30-day. Funds generally available next business day. Hold the paper cheque for 14 days then shred.

Card Controls & Push Alerts

Lock and unlock debit cards instantly. Set travel notices in-app to prevent cross-border declines. Push notifications for low balance, large debits, card-not-present, foreign transactions, sign-ins from new devices and password changes. Push alerts can be toggled per category.

Zelle & Spending Categorisation

Zelle person-to-person payments embedded inside the app. Send to US mobile numbers and email addresses already on file with another enrolled bank. Spending categorisation groups transactions automatically into categories such as groceries, utilities, transport and dining — editable by transaction if the default guess is off.

iOS 16 or later on iPhone 8 or newer. Android 13 or later with at least 2GB RAM. iPad support in companion mode (no mobile deposit). Rooted or jailbroken devices are blocked at startup by root-detection logic — a security control because rooted devices can side-load keyloggers that compromise banking credentials.

Network requirements are modest: the app works on 4G, 5G and Wi-Fi. Mobile deposit requires uploading two images of roughly 200KB each; metered connections will see a pause prompt before upload.

The mobile app ships with WCAG 2.2 AA alignment. VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android label every control. Dynamic Type and Android font scaling work without layout break up to 200%. A high-contrast theme toggle is available in settings. All flows navigable with switch control for users with motor impairments.
